Easter is almost here!

You may already have broken up for the Easter holiday, ready to eat your body weight in chocolate, but if you haven’t gone home yet please read the following to ensure you property is left secure and there will be no nasty surprises when you return.

¨       Close and lock all windows and doors.

¨       If possible, leave a light on to give the impression that the property is occupied (e.g. hall light)

¨       Shut all curtains so no one can see in and store valuables out of sight

¨       Empty your fridge and throw away food that will go out of date

¨       Put the bins out – so it doesn’t smell when you return!

¨       Don’t leave any washing up

¨       Check no taps are left running and have all been turned off before you leave

¨       Check your heating, it may be worth putting your heating on a timer so that it comes on for an hour in the evening, to prevent burst pipes and keep the property ventilated and warm.
