We're going on a food hunt...

We all know that a hangry student is an unhappy student, so we have put together a hang-over curing list of eateries in Cathays that are all within walking distance of your student house. We have got you covered with inspiration for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Number one: Stag Coffee

A decent breakfast is a good start to any day, and can be the ultimate salvation after a night out. This is THE place for delicious traditional fry-ups, quirky twists on classics, sandwiches and coffee to die for.  Although a small venue, this is not one to be missed.

Number two: Café 37

This provides every breakfast you could imagine, from pancakes to fry ups, to milkshakes. The variety of milkshakes is immense and the smoothies provide all the Vitamin C you could need after a night out. The build- your- own breakfast means you can pick and choose how you like your breakfast depending how peckish you are. Café 37 has a vintage American theme to it and if you are up for a challenge try the All Day American breakfast with two of everything!

Number three: The Early Bird Café

This is one of our favourite places for brunch at Sales & Lettings Angels and we are regulars! When it comes to smashed avocado and sourdough, this cute artisan bakery is our go-to. It has all kinds of delightful baked goods, from cakes to breads and we can’t get enough. Being on Woodville Road it is easy to get to and a great place for light bites or a quick coffee with homemade syrups- YUM!

Number four: Wiwo

In a hurry? This noodle bar will sort you right out. This place is great if you need lunch on the go and has lots of options to make your noodles just how you like them. The spring rolls are amazing - this is right by our office so if you are passing, pop in!

Number five: Irie Shack

If you’re in the mood for a boogie and 2-4-1 cocktails look no further. Irie Shack is a great spot for dinner and has plenty of Caribbean delights. From grilled halloumi to jerk chicken, the music is always good and the even have a live singer at the weekends. This is a great place and is ideal for both drinks and food, with staff who are always very helpful and friendly. Try it out and get your reggae on…

Number six: Burger & Bagel

Get your gourmet burgers here! Whether you are heading out or fancy enjoying it at home (via Deliveroo) this is far more fancy that Burger King but less expensive than the Burger Restaurants in Cardiff City Centre. Why not try the iconic Krispy Kreme Burger? Or go for the sweet potato fries? Our favourite are the dirty fries – fries topped with salsa, jalapeños and cheese!

Number seven: Coco Gelato

When it comes to dessert, Coco Gelato is the ONE. The waffles are a meal in themselves and the crepes are the best! There is every kind of ice cream flavour you could think of and plenty of Nutella deliciousness.  This is a great place for catching up with friends and will satisfy your sweet tooth! The sundaes are amazing and every item on the menu deserves a photo for Instagram.
